You can join a Discussions meeting as a participant on your mobile device by following the link in your confirmation email (received when you select the session) while on your mobile device.
Receiving and Opening the Link
Select Join a Meeting in the email you received to join the session in your mobile browser or app.
If you do not have the Discussions app installed, you will be directed to the App Store to download and install the appropriate app. Once the app is installed, you will need to return to the email or message and select Join a Meeting again to access the session.
Logging In
If prompted, enter your display name. This is required only if a display name has not been predefined for you.
If the moderator has not yet started the meeting, you will be placed in a holding area until the Moderator starts the session. The Join Session button turns blue when the meeting has started. Tap the button to join the meeting.
Before joining, you will be prompted to test your microphone, camera, and speakers. Follow the on-screen instructions to ensure your equipment is working correctly. You may need to click “allow” in your browser when prompted to grant microphone and camera access.
Joining the Session
After selecting the Join Session button, your moderator will receive a notification that a participant is attempting to join the session. If allowed in, you will immediately be added to the session. If denied, you will be informed that your entry into the meeting room was denied.
If this is the first time you have joined a Discussions meeting, there may be some security alerts that need to be accepted in order to share your microphone, camera, and screen, as appropriate. You should accept these according to your preferences. If you do not share your microphone, nobody else in the meeting will be able to hear you.
One all permissions have been accepted (or denied), you will be placed into the Discussions Meeting Room.
